Welcome to Cartwrights Swim Schools

David Cartwright qualified in 1989 as a swimming teacher and within one year had setup his first swim school teaching two children per week. Cartwrights now operates a nation wide swim schools company and has taught thousands of students to swim.

Our modern swim schools provide classes at a variety of venues, ranging from small groups at leisure clubs and hotels right up to 25 metre school pools for our more advanced swimmers.

We pride ourselves in providing a customer friendly service that meets the needs of each individual learner. It is our belief that getting skills right the first time is crucial to the long term development of each and every swimmer. Understanding the needs of the swimmer is fundamental to the success of the teacher and every effort is made to encourage students to engage in the learning process and take ownership of their destiny. Our long term aim is to produce competent swimmers who might go on to be international athletes, swimmers, waterpolo players, swimming teachers or confident parents who want the same for their children.

Cartwrights also operate a student teacher scheme for young people wanting to progress onto to be a swimming teacher. Most of these students have and will in the future join our team of fully qualified teachers.

Our expertise is wide ranging with Instructors qualified with either the Amateur Swimming Association or the Swimming Teachers Association at varying levels. The management team is often engaged by local authorities, national companies has consultants and training facilitators and are always seeking to expand our portfolio.
